Mathilde Loisel borrowed a diamond necklace from her friend Mme Forestier for a party her and her husband was going to. Mathilde lost the diamond necklace, her and Mme Loisel went to a party, they replaced the necklace, they came in contact with Mme Forestier 10 years later and told Mme Forestier and told her that she lost the necklace, Mme Forestier told Mathilde Loisel that the necklace she gave him was fake, the necklace she gave Mme Forestier to replace the one she lost was real. The climax of the story the necklace is when she got home from the party and looked in the mirror and the necklace was gone. The resolution of the story is that Mme Loisel and Mathilde Loisel replaced Mme Forestier’s necklace that Mathilde Loisel lost by accident. The theme of the story is don’t lose other people’s belongings. The focal reading is that people need to be more careful with other people’s belongings and don’t lose somethig you borrow because you have to replace it if you lose it. My opinion of the story is it was a pretty good story even though I already read it in my other english class last year so it was a good story it teaches you a lesson to not borrow something if your going to lose it.
